You know reviewing this thread I recall a conversation with a now deceased gentleman who told me he once saw either a Tu 16 Badger or Tu 95 Bear (I can't remember which.) in a hangar on a US base. He was working for a government contractor at the time and was a long time pilot and enthusiast and would have recognized such a distinctive design.

Quite a few "Client States" had Tu-16's. It isn't a huge surprise that one of them escaped from behind the iron curtain. I'm not sure what a B-47 equivalent airframe would have told us. I bet we were a lot more interested in the electronics.
