aww man, all the pics are gone! pop1

I know this is old, but I felt the pics I found would be better off here in a thread already made for the Dauntless.

all are from VMSB-231... can't believe how many runs those guys went through! :drink3:

does anyone know if this group had any good documents or books available? Or after action reports etc? It'd be interesting to find out that some of those SBDs went through that many missions, or the crew, or both! Either way... wow.

also any way of finding out about these and giving them proper credits would be great.
I found most of the pics here: http://vmsb231.soundrentals.org/
and

Hey sorry about the pics, that's an older photobucket account I've forgotten about. The current account I use is a paid account. I'll either transfer those photos over or I'll pay for that account as well. Stay tuned and thx for posting your photos.

all of those pictures work now! excellent. They're all great photos. Looking at the carrier ops ones or the dauntless stuck in the muck really shows what these guys went through as SOP... good grief!

I also found these amazing color pictures of the Dauntless as well over at ww2aircraft.net of the Time Life pics:
http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/aircra ... 35992.html
gorgeous pictures

and at portraits of war:

and here are others I've found via Pinterest:
the camouflage definitely doesn't distort or break up the silhouette, but it does a great job of blending in!

the pictures almost seem surreal

and then this is my favorite I've found:
