Saw you guys heading down the Hudson yesterday from my office in midtown. Also went to check you out on Sunday, not much going on obviously with the rain, but my wife and friends enjoyed going through the planes. Hope to see you again next year in better weather. Do you know anything about the TBM that was in the Million Air hangar, who owns it and is it based at HPN?

Jim- I just picked up the WI with the article on the TF-51C. Looking forward to reading it. Has anyone given any thought to repainting the Mustang to resemble one of the really colorful WW P-51s or the most historic wartime two-seater- THE STARS LOOK DOWN?

Hey Chappie,
There are no plans to paint Betty Jane, other than maybe a repaint of the wing and stab. The Foundation likes it polished. The story for the last week is rain rain rain...barely made it to Westminster and moving to Easton monday will be a challenge. Tis the season. Oleary did a great job for us in WI as did Dave Unwin in Flypast.

Photobucket is at it again...I'll have to check into another hosting site. Glad you guys like the pictures.

While it does look nice polished, I think the public would get a kick out of one of the wild, but historically accurate paint schemes seen on wartime TP-51s. Painting it as Ike's airplane would be a good chance to share some little known history.

You're heading for the Eastern Shore? Did not know you'd be nearby. I live near GED and it was extremely windy this morning, but has calmed down a little recently. Good luck.

Chicks Dig Warbirds.......right?

The last two weekends here in the Southeast have sure been good to me.
Last week we had the Beech Party in Tullahoma. What a collection of great aircraft and wonderful people!
Excellent forums ranged from Bob Parmerter's unique Beech 18 and Taigh's maintenance forum to the Radial engine round table and Walt Bowe's 1st Beech 18 restoration progress.

I also had the privilege of having Taigh fly with me and shoot a couple of landings in the AT-11.

Flying was almost nonstop, both formation and single ships.
Even when the field was below minimums we could hear the missed approaches going by.






The weekend before I happened to be at the right place and the right time too.
We had the Kansan as a static display at the Great Georgia Air Show in Peachtree City.


The CAF Dauntless and "Attu Warrior" Harpoon were supposed to go up with Matt Younkin and his friend/aviation photographer Adam Glowaski for some air to air. The Dauntless had a minor mechanical that nixed their shoot. Adam asked if I was interested in a Twin Beech shoot but we now needed a photo ship. In steps John "Skipper" Hyle with his Harvard and made it happen for both me and the Army Heritage Museum's Cobra.....

Flew up to Blairsville, GA (KDZJ) this morning in the Vintage Flights T-6 with Jim Lawrence. The Collings folks were there with the B-17, B-24, and the Mustang. It looked like they had a good turnout of people looking at the planes. Around 1:00 the Mustang took off on a ride flight, I think Jim H was flying it. About an hour later we departed for home, (Cherokee County, KCNI), as the Mustang was inbound to land. They spotted us as we spotted them, wings were wagged, and the fight was on! Ended up across from each other in a 2g turn and I heard one of the pilots going "TAKA TAKA, TAKA" over the radio. Not sure who "won", but Jim Lawrence assured me that we did.............. The Mustang may have a different perspective
A great way to spend a day!!!!

yep that was me today...good stop here in GA...My customer didnt want to do anything crazy so I did a few turns with the T-6...had i been alone...game on! good times!
