Has anyone been watching airplane repo? Interesting episode where a dc-3 was abandoned by its owner,( even though it looked spotless with polished aluminum,) and slated to be demolished. Turns out that with a few hours of work they get both engines running and good to go. First take off was aborted,( engine problem.) and then simply to find a small birds nest in that troubled engine. Second attempted take off was successful. At the end of the show it was noted that the dc-3 was donated to a Musuem. It seemed a little too " made for tv." Anybody else question why the pre flight didn't see the birds nest?

The first season of the show where they followed Nick Popovich seemed to be legit. This season appears to be almost 100% fake. I haven't seen the C-47 episode yet, should be worth watching if it's fake or not.

What network carries the show? Might be worth setting a DVR event.

I agree 100% that the show is "fake"! There is no way that anyone would get away with cutting a lock off of a door or entering a locked hangar ( breaking & entering, trespassing,). Well at least there are real aircraft in the show.

Yep. I totally agree its fake as well. It always seems like just as their starting the engines the owner comes out of nowhere for confrontation!

Nick Popovich's stuff is 100% real, but it's also a different series. The "second season" is totally different and I'm not sure that Nick had anything to do with it because the production is totally different, I think Discovery or the production company just licensed the original mini-series (that aired on NatGeo originally if I remember correctly). The new show I dumped after 15 minutes. You can tell by the way it's shot that it is "dramareal" which is what I call shows like that and others (many of them found on SpikeTV) that dramatize real events for the cameras, i.e. it was too boring for "TV" so they hyped it up and retold the events as they never actually happened. I find them to be more English-speaking telenovellas than any form of documentary-style reality TV.

I like how in the episode where the guy supposedly goes for a fake job interview with the alleged owner of a plane to be repossessed, there with only a single hidden camera on himself, but then when he goes back into the office a second time to cop the logbooks prior to the repo, there was suddenly a second camera filming him as he walks out the door with them. Patronizing garbage of the first order.

It's about as authentic as pro wrestling, but I have to admit I get kind of a kick out of it anyway. IMHO about 90% of what's on TV is even worse.

Lets face it. We watch it because it has airplanes. Other than that we could care less. But does anybody know if that dc-3 was owned by anybody? I bet somebody knows who's pretty bird that was

These reality shows are 100% scripted. And they're all drama. I'm so disappointed that the History and Discovery channels carry so many of those shows anymore. I refuse to watch them.

I have been involved in bank repossession on several aircraft over the years, & this current series is BS, ain't nothing but a show.
I watched the first season & it was somewhat believable.

Oh & as teenager, I did help a buddy that did the repo wrecker thing, & if they traded airplanes for auto's in this series, they would be somewhat accurate!

Its a little too hard to believe , seen a show last week where they used a helicopter to land at a private strip at night to refuel, and the repose crew was left behind,it was a R 44, which I believe can carry 4 people. including the pilot, they helicopter takes off and the reposed gulfstream lands with the crew of 2 and a three person film crew, and I don't know where the mechanic that did the inspect got to?
