Isn't that B-24 "protected" under some law Bush signed in? Essentially never allowing the aircraft to be salvaged?

the law is "finders keepers losers weepers" it's been on the books for ever as far as the usaf is concerned!! plus it's not gravesite crash.

Well actually Tom it would be a difficult recovery because the land it is on is under the jurisdiction of Fish & Wildlife, no motorized vehicles allowed so as not to destroy the natural beauty. If permission is ever granted for a recovery, every thing would have to accomplished by hand, but portable generators are allowed and the plane is about 100 yards from the shoreline. :shock:
