Ironically our AC friend is the one that wrote an article about F4Us & him at Moseley Field AZ. Don't know exactly who the sources are or were of such a story. c. 1980s.
p.s Found a small pic of him not in Corsair but closing the canopy on a P-38. I'll dig for it. How the man ended-up at the end of his earthly existence is not as important as to what he did along the way!
I was good friends with Ernie Moseley in high school and used to let his dad borrow the various magazines that I had with articles about Bob Bean and the aircraft stored at Moseley field. I wish I had spent more time talking to him about Bean and the various warbirds that they stored. Unfortunately Ernie was killed in the crash of one of their Kaman Huskies and I have not been in touch with any of the family since the funeral. They still have a duster strip not too far from where I live but I do not know if they do any flying any more. I know they shut down the business and got rid of the Kamans and, I think, the crop dusters as well but they did have a few other private aircraft.
