C-47 "W7" to fly for NASCAR

Be sure to tune in to ESPN this Sunday around Noon, as our C-47 will be flying over for the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen's National Anthem!

This is not meant to be a political post, but this is IMHO the opportunities for these flyovers are a silver lining in the sequestration cloud. It is giving opportunities for "old Iron" to impress itself on a newer generation. Who knows how many imaginations will get stirred by these appearances. Maybe 20 years from now, we'll have a new poster on WIX who will say "I didn't know anything about warbirds until I was at the race at Watkins Glen and saw a C-47 fly over. From that moment, I was hooked."

And now with Disney's Planes coming out this weekend with one of the main characters "Skipper" being an F4U, maybe we'll start seeing greater interest in aviation.

For us with the C–123, we have down a movie shoot, a tv pilot shoot and soon to be another tv episode all this year because we think they were not able to get any c-130's.

We missed another movie shoot earlier this year by one week. They called us up a week before they needed us and it was the last week we were planning on completing her annual so we didn't think we were gonna make it so we had to decline... But They offered us more money than we would have probably made in a full airshow season because they were so desperate for a plane. They didn't even ask what we charged...

Thankfully, we have been getting a lot of last minute air shows as we have booked three for August and September in the last two weeks. Otherwise, Thunder was going to be our only big show and our last show of the year.

The movie is a full blown blockbuster. It's a Vietnam war based film, and I do not know the name of it and only one A-list male actor name. It is to Come out in spring 2014. I have a suspicion on what it is, but due to the amount of forms I know we signed, I am not going to say my guess.

The first tv show is called Believe. It will be on NBC and will either be airing in the fall or spring.

As for the second tv show, it is not confirmed 100% yet. For it, all I know is that the actors are to be the flight crew members. Don't know if it is a new or existing show.

As for the one that we missed, It was being shot in late April in Atlanta. It was either the TV show the walking dead or a movie, which I can no longer remember the name. TWD or the movie name I found out by someone who lived in Atlanta and they said those were the only two things they knew of being filmed at that time.
