Bear, I think you might've caught WIXer Ron "Kaigun Fan" Werneth in the A6M's cockpit.

I was more-than-a-little ticked off that I missed his warbirds presentation on Wednesday.

Umm... err... well... I, uh... I didn't take any pics of the gathering...

But Zack, why don't you post some of YOUR pics from the gathering? :axe:

I didn't take any either! But dang it, somebody did!!!! Or we were just posing for giggles and grins...which is quite possible on retrospect.

Great photos Rob! Those sunset Mustang shots are really awesome!!

I am enjoying all these lovely photos that people are posting. More please!

Who are the four Mustang veterans in picture 10 Rob?

So many P-40's this year, that's really cool. Are any of them NZ-restored examples?

Great to see among the re-enactors the RAF hasn't been forgotten. That Rosie the Rivetter girl really looks the part.

Bud Anderson and Will Foard were the aces I heard speaking - I think the other guys were running the interview.

The guy on the left is Dan Bowlin, and he's one of the guys who hosts the 'Warbirds In Review' at Oshkosh. The next guy is Mustang and Merlin engine guru Jack Roush. Racconel ID'ed the other two.

Thanks Gents, I had heard that Bud Anderson was giving a talk and I had hoped it might be recorded for Warbird Radio for us all to hear, but nothing yet. Again, great photos.

Thank you all for sharing these photos!

Speaking for the P-40's, three of them that were attendance were all restored by Fagen Fighters/Warhawks Inc. in Granite Falls, MN - each one being Oshkosh WWII Grand Champion award winners (P-40K N401WH - 2006, P-40E N4420K - 2009, and P-40K N402WH - 2013). Another that was there was an example that was restored by Tom Reilly for Don Brooks (N2416X), now owned/operated by Walter Bowe. The two other P-40's in attendance were the CAF's P-40N (N1226N), which was restored by the Tex Hill Sponsorship Group (Gainesville, TX)), and the Frasca family's long-time owned P-40E (N40PE), which, according to EAA, has attended every Airventure since 1976!

Thanks for that info John, there must be a fair few of them flying in the world now, compared with a decade or two ago when they were fairly rare.
