RAAF 3 Sqn story

A travel story by me on a visit to 3 Sqn RAAF Williamtown air base north of Sydney.

A warbird fits in as the nearby museum has a few aircraft and one i photod was a Mirage.

The YF-17 rolled out of Northrop's Assembly line on April 1974, it was a Northrop design as was the original F-18. There was an agreement that Northrop would build the Air Force version and McDonald Douglas would build the Navy version (Northrop had no experience with carrier A/C) The Air Force wasn't interested, it was buying F-16's. When Canada ordered a land version from McDonald, there was a huge lawsuit which Northrop lost.
