I visited the Indian Air Force Museum at Palem Air Force Base back in 2005.
Given the brutal summer heat ~ all openings are covered with what appears to be sheet metal.

I've no idea what the interior is like I'm afraid .......

Is this the last B-24 in India ? I think the answer is yes.
During my visits I tried to follow up on the story about a high ranking air force officer who had one parked in a hangar as his retirement plan.
The legend has it that he passed away ~ the aircraft was left where it was and is still there. I thought I has a good lead on it's whereabouts
and asked for a picture to be taken which included a copy of that days newspaper. I never got further than that ~ despite several prompts.
The airfield in question is still in use and it's in a restricted area ~ so it's impossible to follow up on the story.
There was an interested party is the US who was willing to fund retrieving it ~ which would have been a bureaucratic nightmare ~ but it was not to be !
