Anyone have pics or part numbers for the folding instrument training hoods? I have the actual hoods just not the set up and releases. Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Mark

Is it for a G model or an earlier model?
Some parts vary depending.
During WWII some were put in at the various units and were locally designed and installed.

It's for a SNJ5 which I believe similar to T6D.
Thanks again....

The 168 prefix part numbers are designed for the G model.
For an SNJ-5 it would probably 88 or lower prefix if it is a NAA part.

P/N for the installation is 59-73002.
It was used on AT-6 through AT-6F but not all A/C had provisions to install the hoods. SNJ-3 #22 had a locally made hood installed for a while but the NAA latches, release handle and parts weren't installed at the factory as far as I can tell.
The drawing has 5 pages on the CD of prints so it is a lot of info and a large file.
The IPC AN 01-60FF-4 from 5 July 45, Revised 11 Jan 52, shows the set up in Figure 53, pages 124 - 125. It lists 78 items for the assembly.

The Air Training logo thread in the WIX Hangar includes links to some excellent color Greenville G-model photos, one shows the hood pushed back prior to taxi.

A late follow up to your instrument flying hood search........
Here is part of the Loose Equipment Section of the SNJ index covering the hood components, including the SNJ-5. Hope this is of some help. I just finished keying Section 1 of the SNJ-3, -4, -5 & -6 Index into an Excel spreadsheet and this is a snip of the page.

The complete Section 1 Index in Excel format can be downloaded from my website at
