Well THAT's cool! Surprisingly beat to crap, though- the amount of corrosion present is pretty surprising considering the depth and temperature. And when you compare it to the virtually pristine He 115, He 111 and Ju 88s pulled up over the past few years, it makes me wonder if they're going to try for this one, or let it lie and go look for another, better preserved example.

Thanks for the link though- if anyone can make a silk purse out of that sow's ear, it's the Norwegians. Those guys are absolute MAGICIANS when it comes to restoring stuff.

find another 1, bv that is........ that is rarer than those you mentioned in the above post. it' hardly recognizable, although the corrosion is pretty extensive. was the filming done by rov or divers?? those aircraft operated pretty heavily in that area for the few numbers that were produced.

They used a ROV to film. The plane sank after an attack by the british, it was moored outside the seaplanebase close by.

The extensive corrosion may have been prompted by fire before it sank.

Checked with my Norge budies- they know the locations of around a dozen 138s- all is sea water. Also seveal Ar 196s, Do 24, Do 26, Ju 52, He 115 ( one in fresh water). Some are good condition - some not.

So, got a decent trade and a few spare million????
