Must have had very low expectations.
I have seen some water (salt and fresh) recovered wrecks in Norway, and those are ready to fly compared to this one.

Still, it was a plan B, so it was not going to look rosy.

Definitely not in the condition I thought she was in from the original sea floor scans. If they're just going to conserve it as is (and not attempt any reconstruction), I'm afraid it's not going to make for that much of a display. I know it was wishful thinking, but I was hoping we'd end up with something similar to the HE-115 that was recently raised in Norway. Something is certainly better than nothing, though - We'll just have to wait and see what remains after the conservationists have their go at it.

I´m amazed that anything survived that long in the shallow waters of the Channel. The cold, deep, still water in the Fjords seems much kinder for sure, but still flimsy aluminum surviving 70 years in sea water is amazing.

Is it possible for it to be used for patterns to make a flying replica, like the 262s that were built here in the US
