It is of with regret that today, I was informed by the daughter of the pilot who our C-47 was assigned to in WWII that her father captain Edward Wilson Frome, passed away this morning.

He suffered what appeared to be a stroke yesterday morning.

He just turned 96 Years old eight days ago.

I only got in contact with him about a month ago after searching for over three months.

We are saddened by his passing, but think instead how fortunate we are that he was there when the world most needed him... and that he survived to tell the tale, when so many of his fellow airmen did not. 96 years is a tremendous life, and he passed knowing that his story and spirit will live on. If there were ever a doubt as to how the C-47 should be finished, this should end it... the aircraft should honor Capt. Frome and his crew.

Godspeed sir, rest well- you have surely earned it.

Lynn

God speed.

With so few of the WWII generation still with us, you really have to embrace the moments with those who still are. I hope you take considerable solace in knowing that you helped bring Capt. Frome "full circle". He passed with the knowledge that not only was the plane that he flew in the war still extant, but that it would be restored as the plane he flew. Even though he may no longer be with us, his legacy will continue to live on through the plane that you are restoring.
