LOTS of fling wings, 3 TV choppers, the Snohomish county Sheriffs HUEY, the SAR bird from Whidbey since some yayhoo trucker hauling an overwidth, over height shipping container took out the North end of the Southbound span of I-5 across the Skagit River just after 7 P.M. tonight  . No one hurt, but it's sure gonna screw up my grocery shopping since I live 2 mi. from the freeway and ALL the I-5 traffic will now go through downtown Mt. Vernon for months. :?

The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) on Monday forced down an aircraft believed to be a US military transport aircraft for entering Indonesian airspace without proper clearances.

Intercepted at about 2 p.m., the twin turboprop Dornier 328 was flying from Maldives to Singapore via Sri Lanka.

TNI AU personnel checked the aircraft with tail number 13075 to ensure it was not carrying certain goods.

While the TNI AU claims the aircraft is a US military aircraft, it does not have the US military roundel nor US civilian registration.

The only registration is its tail number, 13075, without any additional markings."

Apparently the USAF has 6 of them, assigned # corresponds to MSN so this one is 11-3075. Most seem to be former German airliners carrying D-XXX registration prior to joining the air force, this is the only one with no published sqn assignment. The Armys Alaska Comand has/had several DH of Canada Dash-7 former airliners as well as both types of SHERPAS '(twin tailed and single). I've seen a METROLINER around here with a belly pod painted overall medium gray with Air Force numbers on it (C-26).

Busy past three days for flyovers in the Tri-Cities:

On Thursday I caught an Osprey as it passed over BMS:

Yesterday we heard a round engine and noted a Val dive bomber conversion flying North up the Susquehanna River valley from Maryland. It appeared to be painted light gray with a black cowling, red balls in all positions.

Fifi flew directly over my house yesterday morning.

Was out on the deck drinking coffee with my child's pet rabbit when she started going ape. Heard the noise get louder and louder and saw the 29. Made my day!

Watched Fifi land at Manassas Airport Wednesday and have enjoyed catching glimpses of her on and off the last few days. Scheduled to depart for Baltimore tomorrow (Monday) morning.

But I want to know why your child's pet rabbit drinks coffee.......... :o

Hey, I had one of those things fly right over my house in League City, Texas yesterday, looked just like that (cool pictures man, you must have a great lens)! Weird looking bird for sure, wow! Amazingly quiet, too, I thought.

She needs the coffee to wake up in the morning. (Drinks too much bourbon with her pellets. 8)

I don't blame her, you try choking down a big bowl of alfalfa pellets in the morning- :drink3:

I've seen 'em in heli mode before, and you're quite right of course . . . but this was the first time I've seen one in airplane mode. Either way, it's a weird looking contraption that'll definitely make an old aircraft nut look again to say the least.

Yes, I think it was this aircraft. Friends said the B-25 was also in the area, but we didn't hear it due to tractor and lawn mower noise....

Thanks,
Bob

Does it count if you were actually in the aircraft- :D
Stopped by Martin field today to see Fifi and ended up pulling out the Visa and treated myself to a ride a in the Big Tail Beast.

Many thanks to all who helped make it happen.
