This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Inspector wrote:What I'll guess was Bill Anders SVN marked T-28 (can't think of another local one heading North towards KBLI) just pulled me out of a post dinner 20 minute long 'blink'. Yard work and it's sunny and warm are to blame!

I didn't get a good enough look to confirm, but I also heard the sound of a radials yesterday.
One was a T-6, the other was something bigger. I figured it was the SkyRaider.
I guess I figured wrong...
About the same distance from where I heard all that ruckus, but in the opposite direction, this happened~
http://www.bellinghamherald.com/2013/05/16/3012755/pilot-walks-away-from-small-plane.html B'Ham Herald- always on the ball- showed up much later then KIROtv, but they had it- which surprised me!!!
I've seen this bird buzzin' 'round in the past, but I guess it'll be a bit before I see it again.

There will be other stuff there as well~
I'd bet that the T6/SNJ that just buzzed my place on a beeline staight South was headed there.
We've got a bit of weather in the area, so I couldn't tell for sure- looked to be yellow?
I 'think' I heard that HFC will also be there making a pass or two.
Being that it's their regular fly day at BLI, I am not too sure of that...
I 'know' there will be some 'Pre-War' Studebakers there as part of some sort of car show.
But I do not know at what location they can be seen- I have heard two different stories.
There's even a chance I will be there, but I am un-sure at this time.
If I do make it- I will be driving my '57 Studebaker wagon...

A SOCOM Chinook orbited my back yard yesterday evening. Ours is the only yard in a large open area that is mowed down, and I assumed they needed to put down and ours looked like the best spot to the crew.
I had a really nasty turn in a 47 on active duty and I'm not a fan of them. I won't climb into one at an airshow on statis display. Still, I got to admit it would've been cool to have a Chinook land in my back yard and I was a little let down when it veered and went on its way. I would have, of course, taken a bunch of photos had it landed, as nobody would have believed it otherwise.
No idea why it was loitering over my yard like that.

Just North of Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Monday, I swear I saw a P-51 doing some circuits. There was something strange about the engine noise and looked up.
I mean to say, there was nothing wrong with the engine, but a strange timbre to the engine made me look up, realizing it wasn't the sound of the usual Cessna

Yup, they flew over my house in South Carolina on the way. Out in the yard, hey, what's that sound, look up and there they were. Seen the B-29 5 times now including twice in the air and it never stops taking my breath away. Brat was doing some tight formation as well.

I saw one of those Heel-e-Kopters Tuesday during all the rains and a light colored T-6 today low headed West bound due to the fine weather we had today...
