Jim, as always we here in Stockton would like to thank you, Mac, Paul, Chris, and the Foundation for being so accomidating with the B-17 and everything! I wish I had a picture of Mac's face when that first .50 went off, HA! He and Chris, smiles from ear to ear! It's amazing how giggle inducing a fully auto .50 cal. can have on grown men :P .
If you all ever need a cold beer or some warm company, you know where to find it, you're always welcome here! :drink3:

Hope we did those guys proud!

My photo pilot was Jerry Anderson.
This is where a long lens comes in handy along with the Canon 7D

Taigh and everyone involved put on a spectacular show. Several of the participants were in the breakfast room of the Holiday Inn this morning and they were beyond happy. Great couple days, awesome photos Roger! some day I'll get the flash!!!

Your timing for visiting KPAE is impeccable!!! Weather is going to be sunny and warm, now I have to go look up the definitions of 'sunny and warm' :?

I am pretty sure that definition is exactly the opposite of what we have gotten the last 3 years that we have been there.

Aluminum Overcast was here a couple of weeks ago and it poured on them, at least our weather doesn't go around in tight circles :|

I've been putting hours on the Harvard (and deafening people) since Tuesday.

Yesterday, a guy walked up to me and asked if it was a Spitfire. I said "Nope." Then he asked if it was a Tempest. I said "Nope."

More from the Harvard files.

After taking care of some wild strawberries...

I readied the green monster for the day's flying.

After take-off, I headed due North...

Towards what could be called a bush strip at Saint-Michel-des-Saints.

Thanks Jim!

Today was another great day to go flying in a warbird.

Never go anywhere without proper provisions.

Image
Provisions pour le vol by comiquaze, on Flickr

First step was a landing at Hawkesburry.

Image
CCF Harvard Mk.4 RCAF20352 C-GBQB by comiquaze, on Flickr

We then flew around the area, making noise. Maxville and Valleyfield were overflown and we landed at Île Perrot, a 2 000' grass airfield.

Image

Back in the air after a bite, I went South a little bit to find an airfield that used to be on maps but that has since vanished... Turns out it's still there and well maintained as well.

We then flew between two control zones to go inspect a new grass runway at a nearby airport.

It is a beauty.

We just had to try it.

After three circuits, it was time to go back home.

That's 2.8 more hours for me.
