How many planes that are on dry land could be restored with 3 million dollars? I guess you don't get quite the attention for preserving a piece of history instead of fishing up some pieces of scrap metal that only may belong to Amelia Earhart.

If it's legit...and there is an honest chance that's it's really the plane, then I'd guess that some cable TV network (Discovery networks, Nat Geo, etc) would be glad to pony up the $3 million.

A 2-3 hour documentary that solves the mystery would be a huge hit. $3 million would be very affordable for something like that.

If they don't, I'd suspect it's because of a lack of credibility of TIGHAR.

We'll see.

Alhough it might be a good vehicle for subtle humor as the Canadian Film Board found out in The Defender, starring Bob Diemert. It isn't often you can make a cult classic on such a low budget. :lol:
