May 20, P. Allens FHC will be installing a V-2 today for display in the hanger on KPAE. It's one of only 6 on display in the U.S.
I've seen the one @ the COSMOSPHERE in Hutchinson, KS.

Was this the old rusted wreak from the Florence Air and Missile Museum?

I know the NASM has one also. Besides the FHC and the Cosmoshere, where are the other three?

He11 you know what he needs to have a elevated track setup along the side of the runway with a V-2 engine connected to it!!!

The A-4/V-2 was launched vertically from a transportation trailer/erection gantry. The V-1 'buzz bomb' needed a sloping ramp and compressed air to get enough velocity to get the engine running at launch.

The V-2 was a front page story in this mornings Everett HERALD and the article said that a depression had to be created in the 13 inch thick hanger floor (which used to be a part of the ramp @ Paine AFB) to accommodate the missile and it just clears the 50 ft ceiling inside. It should be on display in front of the LANCASTER nose on the East end starting today as crews worked all day and into the night Monday to finish installation.
Wonder if it showed up on Russian or Chinese satellite photos since they track the B-52G museum display on a regular basis. (part of SALT II).
