Hi Mike,

I just tried it & it worked for me. Can you try it again & see if it's still giving you trouble? I know we had a problem with the "contact us" link on the site yesterday. I did something I wasn't supposed to do & screwed that part up. Got by butt in a sling with the site Guru for that. As far as I know though, it only messed with the contact us. Thanks for letting me know.

John, sorry to say I hadn't even thought about that. Does the Coast Guard have a separate History Section like the Navy does or would I look for info from the Navy?

Thanks,

Mac

Jim,

Here's a few links to browse thru at your convenience. There may be something in these you could use. As you may already know, in time of war, the CG operates under the Navy. I know someone who has done a lot of CG aircraft research going back to the early days. If you have any questions on a specific CG aircraft, let me know.

John

It must be my work computer that is having an issue with it. Works fine from home.

Thx,

Thanks for letting me know the links working, Mike & Andy.

We're eventually going to get a forum going on the site, so that other people can add share their knowledge. I didn't want to start that right off the bat, because I didn't want to get bogged down with the forum & not have time to add more to the site.

John, thanks for the links. I'll be sure to check them out. I had somebody else request the Coast Guard being included, so I'm definitely going to have to start doing some research.

Thanks again everybody for all of the kind words & support,

Mac

Jim,

I got an email from him last night. He figured it was me you were talking to. He's the guy I always refer to for CG aircraft history and who I was going to hook you up with.

Thx,

I wanted to ask: What's with the ":1945" at the end of the URL? I've never seen anything like it. Maybe that has something to do with the link problems?

By the way, I like your logo, sure is spiffy.

P.S. Now I'm having difficulty getting your page to load. Hmm...

Not sure why the 1945 shows up at the end. It does on mine as well & when I asked my web guru about it he told me that that's the way he did it & not to worry about it. I kind of got the impression from him that it was only showing up on mine, possible because I'm overseas? I've never had a problem getting on & I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else who has.

The logo was done by WIX's DJango. I gave him a rough idea of the what I was looking for & which wings I wanted him to use & he ran with it. This is the 2nd logo he's done for me & I'd go to him again if I needed another. He does great work & his rates are reasonable.

Thanks,

Mac

Just wanted to let everybody know that information for VF-40 has been updated on my site in the BuPers section. If you click on a pilots name in BuPers it will take you to his Personal Information Card that lists as much info that I currently have. This includes individual combat missions taken from the Action Reports. This is how I plan on doing all the future squadron additions. If you click on Lt. William Neal's name, you will see all of his flights listed during his time in the combat zone. This was compiled from the Action Reports & from his Flight Log.

I'd like to eventually locate photos of individual pilots & aircrewmen to add to the Personal Information Cards.

The next squadron I'll be working on is VB-6. I'm also starting back to work on updating the Overseas Aircraft Losses in the BuNos database.

Thanks,

Mac
