This is the first time since 2004 I couldn't attend the TICO Airshow since I had to go out of town. I was watching the weather and looked like a big storm was heading towards Titusville - I had heard that MCO had 86 mph winds, Orlando Executive where I work had a 62 mph wind gust and there was hail and even tornados. Hopefully they got the planes out of the way of the storm. I know they couldn't tow the museum pieces back to the hangar in time for the fast moving storms so hopefully everything is ok there.
I was in Orlando at abut 3:00 pm and got hit by this storm, heavy winds and huge hail. I couldn't see the sides of the bridge over the lake to the southwest side of Orlando Exec when I was driving over it. Guess the blimp made it OK- as I saw it moored tonight. My wife's co-worker said a tornado touched down on South Orange Ave (as he had to pull off the road and find cover to avoid it...found out it was a tornado when he got to work). By 3:30 pm I was back out in Oviedo and went through the same storm front again. I could see the front edges of it hitting TICO by around 3:45 pm or so.....haven't heard from any friends who were at TICO yet.
