The Bachem Natter (photo #44) is taking off at the wrong angle (should be straight up).

Yes, not that there was a lot of wind, or a shortage of space for something with its rollout length. For a bit more context, the seven Fokker triplane replicas take off basically line abreast, and do a few passes. As the few dozen re-enactors (with a british tank, a couple of field guns, MGs etc) start their fight, the other ww1 types scramble (Fokker D.VII, Bristol Fighter, Camel, Sopwith Triplane, DH.5, Pup) then a couple of the triplanes land. There is pyro area between the re-enactors an runway 25, with MG 'bursts', bangs, flaming onions etc. Runway 30 was active. So the dogfight happens pretty much over the field, which is basically circular, with the public show area taking up a large chunk of the north side, and a couple of wedges of vineyards also encroaching. Light wind from NW/NNW.
I focus on getting photos of the ground fight, as the aircraft are not typically being helpful photography-wise. I did manage to get a reasonable context shot with the wide lense, showing re, -enactors with 5 airplanes wheeling above. Anyway, I noticed one of the Fokkers with a stopped prop, and snapped a few as he curved down, and landed about runway 12 in the middle of the field. A couple of the ground handlers ran over and got him out of the way as the show carried on!

Assuming that is the photo which is now #48, the metal frame with large concrete blocks on each leg was presumably going to be the base for hoisting it upright. However, when the crane drove out late in the afternoon, there was a lot of thoughtful standing about and teeth-sucking, before the Natter was put on the girder, one of the blocks was moved, and the girder rested on it. It was later explained that the winds were too high to allow standing it vertical. Which was a pity, the V2 which raised to the top of the launch rail then exploded last time was great!

Those Corsair photos were especially interesting to me. I've never seen a Corsair with "clipped wingtips" (a modification for British Corsairs so that they could fit into British carrier hangars if I'm not mistaken...) wearing American markings.

The Corsair is genuine RNZAF, but has worn US markings for a number of years now. Hopefully when it is time for a repaint it will go back in RNZAF colours.
Theme for the show was 'The Yanks are Coming' - so it was dressed for the occasion anyway.

As mentioned it is actually a RNZAF Corsair (wearing US markings which I hope they put back to RNZAF one day soon). When it was restored in the US for some reason clipped wings were installed. Unlike aircraft like the Spitfire the wingtips aren't removable, the wings are either clipped or non-clipped.

Nice pic of the Anson at White Bluffs. Hope I managed to get her in a position for some more nice shots like that one. Were you always on the left side of the Caravan or only for some of those shots?
