For the B-25 experts. Was it actually buried? Thoughts????

As measured on Google Earth, that "plane" is 33 feet long. B-25 is about 53 feet long.

Appears to have one vertical stabilizer.

Shadow has a single vertical stabilizer.
Then again...you don't suppose...???

With the taper of that wing...........probably a Aero Commander.

I second the Aero Commander. Not a 25.

Anyone ever see the movie Catch-22? That is what the Mexico B-25 was in. Was it blown up? The question maybe did they bury a whole plane or parts and pieces...if that is indeed what happened?

The center section forward was a burnt out shell after the crash scene was shot and reshot several times. As per Frank Pine of Tallmantz Aviation, a big hole was dug and the airplane was presumably bulldozed into the hole and it was covered with dirt. Fini.

This is probably Aero Commander 680 N787SF, which has has been sitting at Guaymas for 20+ years, slowly rotting away. Used to be parked in the Northern part of the apron, probably now moved to the brush. Make a Google search.

It should also be noted that the Catch-22 airstrip is gone and it is not the same location as the Guaymas airport, for what it is worth.

OK....this is the movie set runway for Catch-22. The plane is buried there somewhere. The lat/long from the B-25 website (N27° 58' 31" W111° 6' 21) may take you to the spot?? Get your shovels if you need some parts/pieces.

It's Guaymas for sure. I vote Aero Commander. There's a Lockheed Lodestar on the southwest end of the runway on the island of Guadalupe, off the west coast of Baja. If you Google Earth there are a couple of pictures of it.
