Tuesday, March 26th marked the delivery of the last C-17 Globemaster III to the USAF. With Lt. Gen. Darren McDew, Commander of the 18th Air Force aboard, the aircraft arrived @ JBLM in Tacoma WA. and joins the 62nd Airlift Wing.

That is incorrect! That was the last aircraft for McChord. There are more this year for Charleston.

I spent 45+ years in aviation, been divorced twice, and been watching/reading the news since I was about 6 so I'm pretty adept at separating the fly poop from the ground pepper.

Thus why the smilies. I figured it was one of the Seattle area papers that you were referencing and being in a "birdcage" it would be an "internal newsletter".

Anyway, found what I believe to be the article you were referring to and it does indeed say that it is the last Globemaster III for McChord, not overall -
