The Cat never had a clipper bow while under Jerry's custodial care. Upon first receiving the airplane, we flew with the original early style turret before moving to the 'eyeball' turret three or 4 seasons ago. The 17 was at the TICO show while you were visiting.

Thank you for the clarifications. Who did do the "undoing" of the clipper bow? Or was this one of the few that was preserved with a nose turret in place?

Pat: The lighting in the hangars is excellent. I did not need a flash on the majority of the photos. It really looks like this place was designed by warbird enthusiasts for warbird enthusiasts. If only Udvar-Hazy allowed the same kind of access! (I know that is not feasible. Comparing MAM to U-H is like comparing apples to oranges. You'd likely end up with a hangar full of ruined and damaged aircraft if U-H adapted the same policy as MAM, unfortunately)

I wish the NMUSAF had even half the lighting in their buildings!!

I was finally able to stop by the museum last Friday while staying in the Outer Banks. Wow. Wow. Wow. So much going on there, and great to see so many fantastic planes in one place. There was a wedding this weekend that was happening in the WWI hangar, so all but five planes were moved elsewhere to make room for preparations. The Mosquito was in the work hangar and so it was tough to get a good shot of her, but I'll be in Hamilton next week so that'll more than make up for it. And to the restoration guy who had to shoo me along as I lingered to take one last shot after our docent left the hangar, sorry!

This Fokker was moved to one of the main hangars to make room for the wedding.
