Another flyer destined to be nailed to the ground in perpetuity. I hope they don't park it outside alongside the B-17 and DC-2. :(

Agreed, there is no reason why this Model 10 shouldn't be a flyer. The aircraft is of a well proven design, with a reliable power plant, and is feasible in the means of maintenance and operation. This aircraft would be far better appreciated in the hands of an organization such as the EAA.

The Museum of Flight should be more concerned with their B-17F that countless Boeing employees donated their precious blood, sweat, and tears on to return it to pristine condition...... which is now sitting outside in the rain thanks to the incompetence of the Museum of Flight. Not to mention the B-29 and ultra rare DC-2 to name a few...

This ground has been covered before, the MoF doesn't want any of it's aircraft flying for insurance reasons, I don't know for sure, but I'll bet they just about have a cow whenever Clay Lacey flies the DC-2 he at least partially owns. The 2 and the B-17 have semi permanent homes in Clays hanger on the East side of KBFI during the Winter months.
And, like most museums they don't want any input from what they have determined to be 'the great unwashed'. :?
I'm certain the MoF would be more than overjoyed if you coughed up the money to secure the land and building construction costs needed to give the 'big iron' a covered home-

Really? And just how many of their museum aircraft do the EAA fly regularly? "Keep 'em flying, as long as we don't own 'em"
