The SNJ at San Diego CGS makes me think of when I stared at those houses in 1957 wishing I was there, not in boot camp at MCRD. I wouldn't do it again but wont ever forget it either. As we use to say Gung Ho times.

Check it out: including a rudder at the far left, I count 16 Northrop BT-1s - aka the father of the SBD! That's nearly a third of the whole production run. I really love finding shots of these obsolete 1930s planes still in use during the war.

Any idea what if any colors the Norfolk SNJ's wore?
My Grandfather Trained there before transitioning to PBM's.
