Good morning folks, how's about some nice looking Japanese types. Kind of a celebration for the Tony news recently. Re-sized and cleaned up in photoshop. Not bad looking now I must say. Any experts out there would be welcome to help identify any specifics. As usual most of these images have no information to go on. Dan K usually has some good stuff to share. Sources SDASM archives, NMNA archives, Library of Congress archives.

This link should explain:

http://www.airventuremuseum.org/news/ar ... ghters.asp

Notice that the EAA and MoF indicated that the Oscar/Spitfire swap was to last for two years. Nine years later the Oscar is still out in Washingon state. :?

This is the NASM/EAA/MoF/Pima plane. The photo was taken in the 1950s when the plane was displayed at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque.

As many will already know, this is the Ki-61 II that survives on display at the Kamikaze Museum at Chiran.
