Aircraft ID help please

Sat Dec 15, 2012 6:50 pm

I recently was given this picture of my Uncle Keith Hunt who would go on to fly in 437 Sqdn. RCAF flying in C-47s from 1944-1947.

I am looking for help in identifying the aircraft he is standing on. In the background are 2 Fairey Battles and to the far right another aircraft that I can't make out the type.

Any help is much appreciated.

My apologies if this is ancient history.

The RCAF obtained 32 Nomads, numbered 3490 through 3521. Individual histories here:

Any additional info on your pic?

Sadly no, there are no indications when or where the photo was taken. I will contact my cousin who sent me the photo to see if I can obtain a time line.

My guess is it will be one of the Nomads at Camp Borden and an aircraft that had not been converted to target towing duties.

Thanks for the info supplied to this point.

Looking at the first list, I wonder where all those STINSON 75's imported from U.S. civil registrations went after the party was over- :?

Nine minutes later the man's question is answered. That is really nice.

Please realize the nine-minute response time was a little sluggish for me.

But the kids were at the movies, and Mrs. K and I were just finishing up a rousing game of Twister.
