The O-58A will be flying by August 2013 and am looking at various candidates for my next restoration project. I have done O-1 Bird Dogs, L-3s and L-4s and was thinking an Army T-41 might be a good candidate. Something in Vietnam colors and markings.

You probably know that T-41 is is Thia markings. Can't say I've seen one in SVNAF colors...nor would I particularly want to.
Just thinking of Vietnam gets me depressed, so I'm not a fan of that idea.

How about a Gloss OD and white stateside aircraft with red trim (an IFR trainer?). IIRC, there is one in the background of The Green Berets.

Roger that on the Thai markings, the Army models were the same OD with United States Army down the side similar to the last O-1 I did. Here is also the gloss you mentioned

How about a replica 1 of only 7 Australian 'POSSUM' aircraft that was essentially a bone stock CESSNA 180 with the older vertical fin.
There was also a military version of a slightly modified 185 which is a very practical and fun airplane(and easier to sell to a bush flier than a 172).

We used to have a T-41 (I think it is now at Lone Star).

Great airplane to fly but I would highly suggest finding one with the 210 HP motor, it really make a difference.

Otherwise known as the U-17A. A local gentleman by the name of West Sanders owns one.
