What Warbird item did you throw away you wish you hadn't ...

When I was a teenager someone gave my father 2 each AN Gun Cameras. When my parents sold their house they didn't turn up. Likewise my father's original unit issued photos from Nagasaki are also long gone. Everyone remembers them though, just no one knows where they are. On the plus side I do have the Japanese officer' sword and some kind of astro compass.

That horse is dead man, you should stop hitting it. As far as I'm concerned Chicago or Dayton would have been a much better place than KSC or NY. KSC I just wonder how much longer it will be able to exist. And NYC... why not take a drive down 95 and see it at the Smithsonian. If they wanted larger cities... CHICAGO. They moved a 727 into the Museum of Science and Industry, I'm sure they could get a shuttle there.

Around age 10 (1978) I decided to send Jimmy Doolittle a Christmas card. I got a signed card in reply, plus a nice typewritten response. Wow. In the rush to leave for college, I'm afraid it went out with the trash. Every time I've looked for it, no dice. It will always be a treasured memory, but what a darn shame.

Well, I didn't throw it away, it was more like "swiped" from my desk at an old job.

My Dad got a lighter from a co-worker who was retired Air Force of a Zippo Light that was onboard a B-58 Hustler during some record setting runs and the light had a top view silouhette of the B-58 on one side and the dates and data of the runs on the other. Sure wish I knew who took it so I could have gotten it back and paid some just reward!

This is one of the few things I have left that I am really glad I held onto!

Sold my N2T project, gave away my AT-10 project, nothing left but a R-2800 cylinder NOS in a can. Guess I can always hang that on a christmas tree.

a friend of my ended up with a JFS from an F-16 for a while. took it to help with a scrounge problem, inspection ended, gave that poo poo back!

I stopped there for fuel in 1974 and recall la flock of B-25s there along with the B-17s .

i sold my 3 mk 88 practice bombs to a guy from alabama. wish i would have kept one!! they were in steel girdered crates, about 300 lbs empty. they were 10 ft long & 44 inches diameter.
