This morning I watched the Liberty Foundations P-40 land at Cherokee Airport in north Georgia (KCNI) and then watched the Movie Memphis Belle take off from the same airport about 45 minutes later! Great way to spend a morning!

Yesterday while on the road to Los Angeles (about six blocks from LAX) I saw at least three T-38s outbound from Sacramento International Airport.

The list of what I've seen since arriving at about 2230 last night is very long.
Tomorrow I'll go to LAX for my flight back to BLI...

 Nope.
I suppose I had that coming due to the poor wording of my post- sorry!!!
My GrandMother and Mother live near LAX- that's where I was headed to while on I5 South.

That's pretty darn cool!!! :supz:

Just about five minutes ago I saw Tanker 85 (a PBY) making what must've been a turn onto final for BLI. Her gear was down. Of course this happens two hours (almost to the minute) that I arrived on Allegiant Flt #230 from LAX... :? :(

Tanker 85 just passed my house in Mt. Vernon (1736 PDT) heading South (KAWO?) @ 2000' and sounding like a washing machine full of Walnuts at least one was running like dogwater.

The last working CHALLENGER! I hope to see it pass me one day running up on the throttle-it would be beyond sweet to see U.P. dig out one of the Big Boys and get it working since CHALLENGER is only 1,000,000 lbs and the Big Boys are a million three. Steam and piston airplane engines are alive and have personalities, diesel/electrics and turbine engines have zero soul.
So Zane, how long have you had your tickets and where are your seats? the track looks incredibly difficult after turn 4.

No telling what base a C-17 might be visiting of course. Looks like C-17s are frequent visitors to Shaw:

C-17's seen around Sumter (Shaw AFB) are probably operating out of the Charleston AFB auxilliary field at North, SC, which is about 40 miles south of Columbia, SC.

Well...sorry Inspector that is not the Challenger...that's No. 844...a 4-8-4 "Northern" and...I'm not going to the Austin F1 race....they wanted $170 for general admission...no seat...seats started @ $300 a piece....too rich for my blood.

Today's interesting sightings include: (1) a B-52 orbiting northwest of Texas Motor Speedway, preparing for a pre-race flyby at today's Sprint Cup race; (2) a bright yellow Super Cub ditty-boppin' along above my house; (3) a stright-tail Cessna taildragger of the 180/185 variety.

Thanx for the correction on the loco Zane, looking @ the photo again I see it's a 4-8-4 miscounted the drivers, must be time to go visit the eyeball guy again!

Two Dornier 328's at GTK (Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport, actually in Sevierville, Tennessee) today. Is this actually a C-146A? No markings visible except the five numbers on the tail. According to some folks, they have been keeping strange hours and landing after 11:30pm at the FBO next to the Tennessee Museum of Aviation.
