If you can catch it on a long sighting expanse you really get an idea of what 18000 MPH looks like  that puppie is moving. In my neighborhood theres a 4 minute sighting coming up Friday the 12th @ around 7 P.M., hoping we have a return to our crystsal clear summer skies.

FIFI! I saw her heading eastbound over northeast Dallas about 45 minutes ago. I was sitting on the patio at my favorite hamburger joint with one of my co-workers enjoying an excellent 'burger and a cold Dr Pepper when I heard the sound of a multi-engined heavy recip airplane approaching. Obviously I couldn't just sit there and listen, I had to trot out to the parking lot and look! :D

So what's FIFI doing heading east on Airsho weekend? Shouldn't she have been heading west?

Must've been a traffic thing because FlightAware shows her landed at Midland.

I love that the B-29/B-24 Squadron always files VFR flightplans and uses flight following on their flights. Makes keeping up with her much easier even when away from the computer because I get e-mail alerts when she's up. :)

A PB4Y-2 Privateer at the Copperstate Fly-In in Casa Grande, Arizona.

There were questions in another thread about whether this was still flying. It is.

Saw a CH47G yesterday but I didn't think to get my iphone out in time to get a photo. Not a warbird by our standards, but a pretty rare bird nonetheless.

There has been a KC-135 parked on the Delta ramp at Detroit Metro (DTW) for at least the last two days.

Hi All,

Last Friday I heard a funny sound - it was definitely one or more Merlins but sort of 'whiny' too.

Turns out to be a mixed formation of Spitfire, DH Vampire and DH Mosquito, forming up overhead my house for a photo shoot over Auckland City.

(Photo credit goes to the lucky B----d with the camera in the back of the Spitfire (Doug Brooker's 2-seater Mk IX).

Image

Cheers

Barry
