Thanks for the link Lightning. So that is the Big Nig in the picture. I understand it is going to the RAF museum. I wonder if they will preserve it with the original name and nose art?
I have heard before the some A-20s had basic flying controls in the back of the plane so the gunner could take control if needed. Is that true?

Yes... "Big Nig"

'Big Nig' has moved on a long way since these images were taken. It is being restored to A-20 configuration, and in its own US 'colors', including the Damon Runyon inspired nose-art and name.
It will go (in due course) to the RAF Museum. I've heard several dates of completion bandied about, but none credible so far, nor from those in a position to know. There's a fair amount of work to be done, but it is being worked on currently.
I have pictures, but am not at liberty to post them as per agreement with Precision Aerospace, the shop. I do, however, hope to be publishing an article or two in an aviation magazine coming to you sometime soon. Hope that helps.

Just curious as to why you thought GossHawk was closing up shop. I was just there the other day and they have a hangar full. Recent events with a certain flying museum might have set them back momentarily, but it certainly isn't going to kill them. Personally, I think it will help them.....

Wow, it'd be great to see a flying A-20. Read a couple books written by wartime pilots, it was a real hot rod down low. I'm always fascinated by the low level strike photos.
