A gentleman elsewhere has attested that he is friends with an old pilot, who tells him he flew B-24's during the war. The strange part is, he says the man claims he flew one with 4-bladed props.

Has anyone ever heard of any experimental Libs/PBs/variants that might have been fitted with 4 bladed propellers ?

My first thought is there is a miscommunication, and the older man may have flown B-26 or B-29 ... but before I run my head like I know something, I'd like to be sure about any experimental's that might have flown with a 4 blade prop setup.

Those guys ID the probable plane, but no info on any experimental 4-blade prop installation.

Any chance there's some mix up with the B-32?

At any rate, what 4-blade propellors could have been installed on a B-24? Could a B-24 theoretically have been fitted with X4 Coronado four-blade props? They both used the Pratt & Whitney R-1830 series engine, correct? At least the early Coronados did. I don't have any info on prop diameters on hand to compare, ditto for prop type (electric vs hydraulic, etc.).

Just a thought.
