I just recieved an email from an aquaintance on the field in New Zealand. The Mosquito has flown! Hopefully I'll have pictures later, if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

Congrats to all involved- what a magnificent sight!

As a bonus the weather is now looking good for the airshow and public debut over the weekend.....

I'm so sorry I can't share photos - I'm watching all this unfold online as well - but there have been some marvellous photos and even video uploaded already. Hopefully they will filter on in a matter of time :-)

Rest assured she looks amazing, and right at home!

I loved waking up this morning as tonight my girlfriend and I head to Auckland. Three flights were conducted yesterday, it will be interesting to see how many more they can squeeze in today before her debut tomorrow.

That's right TriangleP, the "Kiwi Mosquito KA114 FLIES!" take-off video is her second take-off, launching from Auckland International Airport back to base at Ardmore. Three flights yesterday.

As I have it the next flyers are: B.35 VR796/CF-HML in Canada, T.43 NZ2308 (Glyn Powell's own aircraft, glimpsed in the "Close Up" Tv news piece) here in NZ, and the T.III TV959 now owned by Paul Allen, currently in store at AvSpecs.

Cowlings for KA114/ZK-MOS were painted overnight and the last photo I saw had engineers poised to refit them to the airframe.

Forgive me if it's been posted already, but Gavin Conroy has shared a picture he took from the chase plane on the first flight: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...&type=1&ref=nf
