This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Collings Foundation B-24 Witchcraft about 6:00 PM about 5 miles distant. No mistaking it though.

FIFI! She flew by my house right at 4:00 PM, lookin' great and soundin' fantastic, headed westbound at low altitude! I'm home from work this afternoon nursing a rather sore mouth after surviving three hours of dental work this morning (don't ask). The pain killers ain't doing the job, but the sound of those R3350s sure brightened my day!

You really are a fortunate individual to be one of the last to see a shuttle with air under its wings!

I've been fortunate to see a few, and heard even more. I saw the second landing at EAFB, and on the drive off the base, saw the first being ferried on the 747 as it headed back to Florida for refurb. I saw another land on a classified mission at EAFB when I was working a C-17 flight test issue (mid-90s?). Heard many of the sonic booms from other landings at EAFB over the years and now this flight. I've been fortunate to live in southern California in this respect.

Formation of two F/A-18s and an EA-6B heading towards JSB Andrews above Rockville, MD. I'm pretty sure the EA-6 was from VAQ-209 that is stationed there, making me wonder if the F-18s were the new EF-18s. They were too high up for me to make that determination, though.

Today's been a "good warbird day"! Today's sightings: a Huey, an L-Bird (OD with invasion stripes), two T-6/SNJ types, and a C-45/SNB (overall dark sea blue, may have been Nils Agather). That's more than I've seen around my home in a single day in a very long time!

A T6 over my son's soccer game this morning! Seems like a good spot for warbirds watching.

I heard something with 12 cylinders fly over my house today and yesterday twice (on both days) but never did get a good look at it...

A B-25 a couple times, prolly LSFM, one flight of three Tora Zeros, and one solo Tora Zero. Methinks it might be WOH Press Day at EFD, and that I might've seen a few more if I hadn't been obliged to sit around doc's office half the day.
Anyway, just wanted to say there's NO WAY I'll ever get blah-zay about dashing out to see what's making the strange-sounding rumbling, and looking up to see a tight formation of "Zeros" droning over. Seriously cool looking and sounding, and a sight that sends a chill up my spine every time, always makes me think of that certain December morning.......

C-17 at fairly low altitude on heading to the northeast. I thought it was odd to see one this far north, as Andrews is about 50 miles southeast of our location. This was followed up about two minutes later by a very distinctive Blue, White and Silver 747 on the same heading, that most likely had the call sign "Air Force One". I imagine the C-17 was the "advance team" plane heading home from Ohio, followed by AF1. It is still odd to see them this far north, though.
