According to the president of the FMAH (air museum) and other documents, the aircraft BuNo. 43-11728 never arrived to Honduras since it was donated to the USAF museum by Bell Aircraft in 1960.
That aircraft was one of two built that were 2-seaters.

P-63 Folks:

Pictured below is the Bell Model 53 Co demonstrator dual-cabin modification. Reg NX41964. Photo AFM c.1959 (The X is omitted).

The sample shown is also 1 of 2 a P-63E AAF 43-11728 modified by Bell circa 1948 to place an observer during the early stages of the Bell X-1 program. (Cobra Book by B. Matthews, Bell Aircraft Corp, 1996 pg 376).

Does this aircraft looks like a P-63 trainer model? Would a P-63 student pilot be able to land this flying machine fm the back seat?

Col. Rohr:

To further substantiate our claim, none of the 5 Bell P-63Es were exported to Honduras via MAP (Military Asst Program).

All 5 samples were acquired fm private US brokers in the US circa 1948-1949. Co. Name M.P. Efferson & Associates Inc out of Washington D.C.

(Ref NARA Docs and personal e-mails of Mr. D. P. Hagedorn).

Colleague FAH 503:

We are std by for your official FAH source document that links/connects Bell P-63E AAF 43-11728 to FAH inventory. We hope to see some type of hard evidence not soft or virtual stuff! 24 Hrs

p.s FYI: The 2nd - 2seater was as indicated by Helldiver Bell AAF 43-11734 once owned by Mr. D. Chvatal and now at Aerocrafters in Calif.

:partyman:

You, Tulio, myself and some others all have had our share of this :butthead:

I am sure Scott is monitoring the proceedings here and will take action when the keg is filled to the rim.

Lets leave this profile neurotic weirdo alone - he's not worth the trouble.

In hindsight of that, I'll whizz off to a pub now :drinkers:

Cheers everyone
Martin

Why is this even an issue? FAH-619 has a right to be wrong. If he refuses to believe the facts presented to him then thats his option. If you don't like what he has to say then ignore him. Or present the facts as you know them and debate him. thats how we learn.

Now I have heard that this is continueing off board. If a member of this forum is threatening another member of this forum or violating the rules of the forum off line then let me know (a copy of the e-mail involved is needed as well) and I will deal with it from there.

However, I cannot and will not ban someone because there are wrong or thickheaded and everybody hates them. But this is fair warning to ALL those involved. If you violate the rules you will be banned for 30 days, no more warnings.

Randy:
Perhaps you refer to the program called "Peace Bonito", but this was during the 80's when the F-5s were sent to Honduras.
