Mark Holliday, well known for his Swift and other vintage activities, had a serious accident this past week. The thread at the Aerodrome Forum and the link to CaringBridge keeps his condition up to date. Only met him once at MSP terminal and he is quite giving of info and talk of flying. Wish him well.

There is a notification service on a link in a post there that friends of Mark have been updating daily. He seems to be recovering well. Long way to go though.

Although I don't think I've ever met Mark, I knew of him from his activities with the Swifts at the Lake Elmo airport east of St Paul MN.
I hope he has the best of luck on his recovery back from this accident.

I met Mark two years ago at a fly in breakfast. He was flying the Fokker Dr1. I walked over while he was still in the cockpit and said "OK I'am impressed", after watching his landing. Mark was clearly in complete command of the nasty little groundlooper. I was immediately impressed with him as a pilot and man. Since then my first impression has been reinforced.

Prayers for him, his many friends and family,

Regards,
Pirate Lex

I went to Colorado the day he came home (Dec 12) and spent a week there. He's almost back cognitively, but still has a way to go physically, was walking with a walker then, now I think with a cane. Slowly getting better, he'll fly again-

Wow! That's great! I bought my Swift from Mark and I bump into him all over the US at various airshows. Great person, I hope to see him back at fly-ins this year.
