WW2 USAAF film footage - graphic detail

This film ive never seen before but it sure is graphic, showing attacks by USAAF and Luftwaffe planes... many showing massive amounts of metal falling off their targets... and behind each target was a human...sometimes people forget this and only focus on the plane.

A very well documented mission coverage is done and shows P-47, P-38 and P-51 forming a daisy chain escorting B-17s into Germany.

Warbirds are nowadays flown to remember the sacrifices made by such people from whatever background they flew, in times of war.

Imagine for one fleeting moment you were one of the people been attacked as shown in the film - what and how would you feel knowing your life could be milliseconds away from death?

Great film. Even had Reagan narrating. I'm surprised I hadn't seen it before.

at 13.02 the plane is flying unbelievably low.

WOW! We shot down a Spitfire or two.... Interesting to see how they would straff downed allied aircraft.

In the clip that starts at 16:54, notice what happens to the P-51 or P-47 on the left hand side of the screen after the explosion.

Captured, or German gun-film mixed in? As someone pointed out above, there's footage of a Spitfire getting clobbered from behind, so makes sense there might be a bit of Luftwaffe footage thrown in.

Great film. Wonder if that Mustang made it through that huge explosion.

Good Lord.
I've seen that sequence before but I never noticed that fighter coming apart...
Really shows you that straffing was never 'fun' for the pilots.
That reminds me of some color WW2 film I've seen of a charred corpse being drug out of the wreck of a jug I saw on TV years ago. I never forgot that.

Certainly some interesting and brutal footage there. Also wierd that at the end as they show the well known US pilots, the soundtrack plays God Save The King.
