I'd like to know the model no. of the attached flying helmet; military specification:Mil-H-63147 USAF. Perhaps a model HGU-2A/P, early Viet-Nam era?

Thank you

Except for the edge roll, the visor looks a lot like my HGU-33. The helmet looks like the HGU-26 and so does the ear cup suspension system with the nylon cord. No O2 bayonet receptacles, so low level use. Maybe an O-1,O-2,OV-10, OV-1, etc....?

Could we get shots taken from different angles ?

I agree it looks to be a HGU-26/P helmet. Let me see if I can find pics of mine, if not I'll go take some. Yours has a single visor housing where as mine has the dual visor housing.

The helmet is not mine, but I'll take photos from different angles.
Thanks very much for the info.

Cheers

The MIL-H-63147 you referenced is most likely MIL-H-83147. This would ID your helmet an HGU-22 shell assembly. With comms and visor added, it then became an HGU-26/P helmet. These could be found with both single or dual visor (PRU-36) assemblies. Issued from the late 1960s thru the mid-1980s.
