C-47-DL 42-32892 (c/n 9118)
to USAAF Feb 24, 1943 - To Russia Feb 12, 1943

Probably a typo in there somewhere, but that's the basics.

Nose wash flattened and one side's prop was feathered. Must not have been worth hauling a work crew and parts out into the middle of nowhere to fix.

Force landed in 1947 due to overloading (33 pax + two crew) and engine failure. 28 eventually rescued

I think it's funny how the author in the one link in the OP's post says it's in excellent condition and he hopes a Russian museum will recover it and make it airworthy. Um, hate to tell you this pal, but it's been somewhat stripped and vandalized. And airworthy C47/DC3 aircraft are not that expensive to purchase and there are still lots of them out there. So I don't think you'll see anyone trying to make that one flyable anytime soon let alone trying to recover it.

A fascinating find to be sure, but there have been C-47s in better shape that have been scrapped in recent years, at airports right here in the States. Certainly us vintage airplane geeks would love to see her recovered and restored, but I don't think that's being realistic. One thing that does make this one a bit more interesting than countless other derelict Gooney Birds is that it looks to have once been equipped with an upper turret.
