OK, for all those who thought it looked like an outhouse seat, just where are your minds??? No, this is not a potty chair. It is an oven and form mold that Clay built for the clear plexi tail cap. But now that you mention it, be kinda nice to have this option available in case we ever have an extended trip with a bunch of babes on board... poof, ok I am back to normal... just had a momentary day dream!

Good Morning America !! JR

Just recent experience.

Yep, it was the first thing I thought of as well I have to admit!

Kinda reminded me of a honey bucket on a C-130 sorta. Never used it because I didn't want to have to empty it. Well, that does it, we are not having one on the A-26. I just remembered why! Moving on... The open house and birthday celebration for Meacham Field is this coming Saturday in Ft Worth. The events start actually at 10 am ( I was told 9 am earlier, but that is for the flyin guests and to tow B-25 from the VFM hangar over to the main terminal ramp.) There will be free hotdogs provided. A free shuttle will run back and forth to the two museums from the terminal. We will be working on the A-26 in the hangar so feel free to come talk to us. The CAF A-26 will be towed over to the terminal ramp and will sell tours and stuff. Our DC-3 will be open for tours and rides beginning at 10 am. Ck our website to get the phone number to call Dana, our scheduling lady.

Like to send a special shout out to the A-26 vets who are joining us now on WIX. Our thanks to Col. Roger Graham for adding our link to the email list for the Nimrods and other outfits that operated out of NKP during the VN war. Welcome on board. We will try to keep yall posted on how the restoration is coming and the happenings in Ft Worth. The Ace/On Mark Engineering Company of Texas, JR

Don't forget the open house and birthday celebration for Meacham Field on Saturday, 21st, from 10 am to 1 pm. Free hot dogs. Free shuttle from terminal to the museums and back. Free parking at the terminal. There will be a fly in plus the display aircraft... DC-3, A-26, B-25 and if you ride over to the VFM hangar, please stop by to see Special Kay. Our DC-3 will be selling rides, too. Be glad to chat about the restoration with you. We are still looking for sheetmetal volunteers so step up if you want to help return a Viet Nam era airplane to the air and honor those veterans! JR

Another reminder of the open house tomorrow, Sat July 21 at Meacham Field from 10 am to 1 pm. We will probably be at the VFM hangar a little longer than that, but since the temp is supposed to top 103 degrees in the afternoon, we will knock off early. Can't drink enough water to work in that kind of heat very long. Be time to head to the lake and get on the water!! BTW, we usually have some of the crew showing up around 6:30 am. JR and David A are planning to do the vertical stab repair in the morning so being 19 ft in the air, they need to get going before it gets too hot. One more step closer to hanging the rudder!! Yay!! Come on by to see us. Sheetmetal guys, we have a special need for your help if you can come talk with us about it. It is time to do some serious repairs to the nacelles. Any help would be appreciated. Let's make this tribute to the Viet Nam vets fly again!! Thanks, the other JR, BTW, we saw a T shirt we liked at the steak house in Ponder yesterday. Said "If God hadn'a intended us to eat animals, He wouldn'ta have made 'em out of meat!" Reminds me I need to find some more recipes for BBQin wild pigs.

Oh shoot, I shouldn't have added that part about BBQin wild pig. O2Lady, ok ok, yeah, before you say anything, I know that it isn't on my diet plan, but a man can't live on salad alone. BBQ is one of the four food groups, right? It would be unhealthy to leave out one. Come to think of it, pizza is another one of the 4 food groups along with microwave and frozen. It would only be reasonable then to have a slice of pizza once in awhile, wouldn't you agree? Of course, no extra salt or cheese just goes without saying. OK, so am I off the hook? I have to get down to where my flight suit fits again. After all, can't go blasting around in the A-26 if I can't get into the cockpit. I get that. It is, well, tougher to do at this age. I'm workin on it!! The pie at the Dixie House just makes it a little more difficult!

Maybe I can time it so the airplane is ready about when I am as well!! EEEhhhawww, JR

I plan on being there in the morning to help marshal the planes in and out. I am glad to see it will be over at 1300, I was kind of dreading being out on the ramp at 1630. Whatever the free air temp is, you can always add 10 degrees at least when working on the ramp. Then when a few jets get cranked up it only gets better.
See you in the morning, in orange! (You too O-2 young lady!)

Sheeeesh, O2Lady, I am certainly glad you got this cleared up. I would dearly miss the Dixie House and all the good food/fun there. We take the restoration team there quite often for lunch on Saturday and the gals there treat us like old friends. Well, I guess we are since we have been coming for more than a year now. Thanks! JR
