Still having fun with my new camera. Here are a few shots I took over the weekend at my home airport, Northwest Regional (52F), Roanoke, Texas and one from Denton (DTO), Texas.

300 hp Super Chipmunk - N89JG (went for a ride in this one years ago... quite the hot rod!)

CJ6 based at Northwest Regional - N31101

Super Widgeon on take-off - N6647K

170 that is new in town... recently flown from CA to TX. Now based at Denton. (Look familiar Roger!?) - N2538D

Nice pictures Dan,

Looks like the camera is keeping you happy. Yes the 170 is quite familiar. I haven't seen Jimmy lately, did he sell it to a new owner down your way?

I just ordered a new Canon EF 100-400mm IS lens, so I'm looking to visit an airport in the following week to check it out also...........

I've currently been using the 75-300 IS so I'm looking forward to trying out this new one. 75-300 was much cheaper, but also had tracking issues......

I am very interested in hearing how well your new lens works. I am currently doing much OT at work with the idea of buying a digital camera in the spring. I want to do it right the first time, so I am looking forward to any tips and advice about cameras and lenses, what works, what doesn't, and what you wish you had done.

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I'll keep you updated Mike. I'm still on the film end of the camera and am considering the new Canon 5D in the spring also. As the lenses are interchangeable on the Canon's, I'll continue in that direction.
