This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Just to put everyone's mind at ease. The FAA is not trying to shut down the ride program. I just returned from 3 days of the "Public Meeting" with the FAA in Washington DC. The CAF with Steve Brown and Mark Novac, EAA with Sean Elliot, Lone Star with Larry Gregory, Collings Foundation with Rob,Rick, and the rest of the posse, and me with the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. There were a few other groups represented also. I will start by saying that everything went better than I had imagined. They had over 500 "Public comments". They expected around 100 people to appear. It started out as a public meeting like something out of CSPAN, but by the second day it was a sit down and work through the issues that we all had. Everything we discussed was open for comment and they listened to our suggestions. We also heard about their concerns. With the exception of things that were FAR rules concerned that can't be changed by this venue, everything was looked at and mitigated by the FAA and us. Just about everything was worked out.
The only thing is that, all we discussed and worked through, has to be put with the public comments, and then reviewed by the legal department. Look for some announcements at Oshkosh. Don't want to say anything more because things are still being reviewed.
Over all it was positive. Thanks for those that took the time, effort, and expense to make this happen.

I think this was one of the most productive meetings I've ever attended. As Doug said everything we worked on is still being run through the FAA machine, but look for positive changes. I think we were all disappointed that more LHFE holders were not present, but greatly appreciate those who were there.

There are several threads which include this topic. The FAA has lifted the moratorium. Horray!
The news is in several outlets, this is one example:
