I don't think the thread is out of hand. There's nothing wrong with a good conversation. I don't think anyone is being rude.

Krlang, what does flying vs static have to do with anything. Once again just because you are going to fly the airplane shouldn't make it ok to screw others over. You have to remember that Tallichet was pretty well off. It wasn't like a small museum fighting to keep the plane going and these markings helped.

The MBMA is the group that had the nose art copyrighted. When the plane got donated back to Dayton with went the Rights. The MBMA raised the issue with Tallichet over his broken agreement. He never held to his part of the deal. The NMUSAF came along and made them hold true to what was promissed. I can't understand the problem

Also that dusty static example you refer to flew 25 combat missions over Europe at a time when your luck ran out at about mission 12. That airplane and the crew that flew it took on the German fighters and flack every mission. She's got the scars to prove it. If you want to pay honor to them, that's the plane to go see.

The airplane is now in Cincinnati. It will be giving rides this weekend, 23 & 24, then moving to Columbus for the following weekend. Then on to Pittsburgh.
