The weight issue will knock several potential bidders out of the running.
It'd be funny to talk with the winner after they landed, assuming they'd never ridden on any fighter before. I'm sure you'd hear something like, "It was great but boy, am I beat and I don't think I'd need to do that again..."
I had a 90-minute ride in a 'stang once and was totally drained afterward. I'm thinking a two-day ride would suck the life right out of you. I hope whoever wins will plan a day or two to rest up from something like this. I've ridden the GIB spot on prop and jet fighters and it's really a grueling (yet seriously cool) experience. I can honestly say if I'd won such a ride in a contest, I'd probably sell the ride to someone else. Once you've done it once or twice, the cool factor progressively starts being outweighed by some serious discomfort...

Well that was quick! Too bad

It's possible that ebay pulled it because of the offer for purchasing a return flight. They're very sensitive about listings that offer additional products/services/etc. at additional cost outside of the auction itself.

Depending on what category the aircraft is certificated under can have bearing on the situation. I know they offer rides in the Collings B-17, so it can be allowed(depart and land at the same airport and less than 25 mile radius). The main concern is point to point drop off. FAR Part 61.113(a) and (c) address sharing costs with passengers. When you run your own "Priceline" for air fare, this can be trouble with the Feds. By the way, why the FAA stuck that rule in Part 61 Certification of Pilots is beyond my logic. 91.147 addresses carrying passengers for hire. I include all that in case a fellow WIX pilot is contemplating or curious about such activities.
