Warbird Information Exchange

Hi, we need to manufacture a new top section of firewall for a P-51D. Does anyone know the material specification which was (or can these days) be used, and secondly the best method to effectively cut this to the required shape without adversely altering it's material properties (ie will plasma cutting or similar cause an issue)?

Any words of wisdom very welcome.

ps, we have all the drawings, it's just they're 70 miles away and I won't be able to get there for a month or two.
