Harolds Club Transcontinental Trophy Dash information?

Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:09 pm

I"m looking for information and photos of the pilots and aircraft that participated in the this cross-country race that took place in the late 60s and early 70s. I don't have much in my library on these races and internet searches have yielded next to nothing.

Any suggestions?

Wasn't there quite a post about this subject here on WIX about 6 years ago including several INSTAMATIC color pix?

Just ordered Reed Kinert books from AbeBooks.com. Two bound books covering Volumes I-VIII (1909-1967 and 1968-1971).

That should cover it (and more) quite nicely!!!

Birch Matthews put out a book in the early 90's called Wet Wings & Drop Tanks. It's the difinitive story about the Bendix races in the 30's and 40's, as well as the Harold's Club Trans-con races at Reno from '64-70. Lots of in-depth stories as well as plenty of color and b&w photos.
