Will the real "Cincinatti Miss" Please Stand Up?

Can anyone help with some information about the Tri-State Warbird Museum's new Mustang, "Cincinatti Miss"?

I have been of the impression, based on things I read on the internet, that this airframe was 44-73260 -- the ex-Cavalier 2000, which was sent to Indonesia, and crashed in 1975.

In Warbird Digest #3 ('Resurrection Report'), this point is reiterated...that the TSWM's Mustang is ex-AURI F 360 / 44-73260.

Now.....Warbird Digest #5 has an article on Cincinatti Miss that says the airplane is actually 44-84410.

What is the story?

Well, Scott (our fearless leader) was trying to figure this out when we went to Thunder over Michigan.

Scott, did you ever find an answers with this?

From a source in the know....

Apparently the pieces of 44-73260 that were recovered from Indonesia were incorporated into parts from the airframe it is currently registered with.

Makes sense...it's happened before!
